MindBomb • World of Warcraft Horde Guild on Mannoroth

Welcome to MindBomb!

January 3, 2009 Category: Guild Announcements3 Comments

MindBomb is a World of Warcraft Horde guild on the Mannoroth server.

We are a casual guild, with the founding members having played various games together since the days of Doom over the modem.  The founding members, Male Orc Warrior Aegiss (John), Male Tauren Shaman Lupa (Jim), Male Tauren Druid Gordita (Josh), Male Bloodelf Paladin Balamar (Justin), Female Bloodelf Paladin Bubbleoseven (Ricky), and Male Undead Priest Ohfatty (Tom), have all been gaming together for many years.  Most of us went to highschool and middle school together.  Now we are getting older and starting families, but still love to game.

Mind Bomb deals 3 damage to each player. Each player may choose and discard up to three cards to prevent that amount of damage to him or her from Mind Bomb

Please feel free to apply using our online form.

StarCraft II

July 19, 2010 Category: StarCraft II0 Comments

So I pre-ordered StarCraft II today (got 500 bonus Best Buy reward points – thats a $10 gift certificate!).  Do we need to create a Mindbomb for StarCraft?  I’m not going to go through the trouble of a new site, but I think we should consider keeping the Mindbomb legacy alive in other games!

Feel free to post about SC2 and let us know what server you’re on (I think with that RealID, we’ll be able to find each other, but just in case).

ICC 10 Man Speed Run

July 19, 2010 Category: Guild Announcements, Instances0 Comments

I have to admit, I’m pleasantly surprised that we were able to run 10/12 ICC 10 man in about 2 hours this evening.  Really a great testament of what Mindbomb can do once Cata comes out and they change raids to make 10 mans viable.  Good job to all, and thanks for the awesome run!

Patch 3.3.5a, The Ruby Sanctum unlocked!

June 30, 2010 Category: Instances2 Comments

With the prolonged maintenance last night, Blizz finally unlocked the final raid instance before Cataclysm: The Ruby Sanctum. Located under the Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight, this zone features 3 mini-bosses (Baltharus the Warborn, General Zarithrian, and Saviana Ragefire) and one end boss, Halion.

Before heading in, make sure to pick up the quests for the instance so you don’t miss out on 5 frost emblems! [Assault On The Sanctum] started by Krasus on top of the Temple, which leads to [The Twilight Destroyer].

Idea for a mod – Mindbomb, Inc.

June 29, 2010 Category: Editorials, Guild Announcements, Theory0 Comments

So, being an accountant and a computing nerd, I was thinking on my hour long drive home about a mod that I think would be neat.  More like a thesis of sorts, but I was wondering if you could run a WoW guild like a company.  That is, how do the economics/accounting of a guild relate to that of a company, and how could you actually sell shares of your guild, report out financial statements, pay dividends, etc.?

ICC 10/12, Sindragosa and beyond…

June 28, 2010 Category: Guild Announcements, Instances0 Comments

Since we rolled ICC pretty hard, I figured I’d post these links directly to the final two encounters in the instance: Sindragosa and the Lich King, both of which are far more complex than anything previously, so PLEASE WATCH THESE VIDS:

PvP Gear breakdown

June 28, 2010 Category: Gear Discussion, Theory0 Comments

Since some of us seem interested in getting pvp gear, figured I’d post this when I saw it on wowhead:

Piece/Emblems/Honor/Cost

  • Hands / 50 / 43,300 / 766 honor per emblem
  • Chest / 75 / 54,500 / 727 honor per emblem
  • Head / 75 / 54,500 / 727 honor per emblem
  • Shoulder / 50 / 34,700 / 694 honor per emblem
  • Legs / 75 / 34,700 / 463 honor per emblem

So it makes sense to buy the Hands, Chest and Head with Emblems, the Shoulders with either or, and to get the Legs with honor (assuming you don’t have enough emblems for all 5.

It’s about that time…

June 22, 2010 Category: Guild Announcements, Instances2 Comments

Since everyone (save Brad’s paladin GRATS Male Bloodelf Paladin Cyklik on 80!!!) is 80 now and we’re getting gear pretty fast, I figured I’d make a make a couple playlists featuring Tankspot’s video guides, which give an awesome overview.

Just something to look at if you’re bored. This way we can roll through the entirety of ToC with ease, and most of the easy bosses in ICC as well.

Gear for Mindbomb now that we’re 80!

June 15, 2010 Category: Gear Discussion, Guild Announcements0 Comments

Edit:  GRATS Male Bloodelf Paladin Balamar AND Male Troll Priest Johnato on hitting 80 last night!!!
Edit again: Grats to Male Undead Rogue Zennyo and Female Bloodelf Mage Shazril on hitting 80 over the weekend!

I think it would be nice for everyone to post their ‘wish list’ of 80 gear.  You can use the tooltip integration (check out this link for how to use).

Guild Housing in WoW

I just happen to be going over mmo-champion.com and there was a blue post about leveling guilds and so other stuff. Which made me start thinking about guild housing.  Not sure how many of you out there played DAOC (Dark Age of Camelot) but if you did, you undoubtedly had a house!  I am not even saying that they would have to have personal housing. But how about a zone where all the guild housing was!  I would love to have a mindbomb house that could be decorated with trophies or weapons or whatever we wanted. Have our guild vault there. All that jazz.  Just was on my mind and thought I would speak on it! Till next time.

“Oh I see what you’re saying about my butt”

Remote Auction House

June 12, 2010 Category: Blizzard Posts, Editorials0 Comments

So Blizzard announced the remote auction house.  I wonder how it will affect the economy in-game?  Initially I thought this would allow the farmers a way to get even more gold.  However, without mods like auctioneer to scan and analyze the AH, I would think that most serious AH’ers actually spend most of their time logged into the game and using analytical mods that allow them to manage their auctions.  I think this might actually cause a lot of bargins to start appearing.  How many idiots are going to be posting stuff with no knowledge of what the market price is?  I say, let the idiots waste their money (just like the purchase-able ‘exclusive’ mounts), and I’ll start scanning the AH and using mods to take advantage of the remote AH tool.
